Intuitive and User Friendly
ReqSheet is exceptionally user friendly and does not
require any formal training. The tool provides a simple
user interface with familiar short-cut keys for standard
productivity functions such as copy, cut, paste, undo,
redo, find, replace and save. Data in multiple rows can
easily be edited with Excel-style multi-cell edit, copy
and paste.
Document Based with Central TFS Database
Requirements are
entered hierarchically into ReqSheet documents, which can be emailed as
attachments and shared using Microsoft SharePoint®. Microsoft® Team
Foundation Server acts as the central database providing
requirements storage, management, workflow and tracking.
ReqSheet documents can be maintained off-line, making the tool ideal for
engaging with customers off-site. A network connection
is only required when retrieving data from or publishing
requirements to Team Foundation Server.
Edit TFS Work Items within ReqSheet
Capture, organise and manage Team System requirements
in a hierarchical list using drag and drop. View and modify TFS work items (including managing links
and attachments) from within ReqSheet without having to
use the Visual Studio Team Explorer.
Requirements Reuse
Requirements can be reused by simply copying a
requirement and pasting as a cross-reference. Any
changes to the original requirement are reflected in the
cross-reference. Cross-references provide a good
starting point for identifying object and code reuse
during the design stage.
Methodology Flexibility
Create custom document templates to work with any
Team System process template. Predefined templates are
provided for MSF for Agile, MSF for CMMI and SCRUM.
Review Status Tracking
Requirements are colour coded
depending on their review status, making it easy to scan
the document for new and modified requirements. Changing
an 'Approved' requirement automatically changes the
review status and colour to highlight that the
requirement has been modified.
Review Comments
Conduct peer reviews and annotate
requirements with review comments. Customers and other
stakeholders can review and comment on requirements. 'Next' and 'Previous'
buttons facilitate navigating between requirements with
review comments, and document owners can mark review
comments as accepted.
Track Changes
Control when changes are tracked and highlighted using the 'Track Changes' toggle. Changed requirements are highlighted in the requirements list, and 'Next' and 'Previous'
buttons facilitate navigating between changed
requirements. Compare changes using the quick 'before
and after' view, or perform a more detailed analysis
highlighting exactly which words have changed in
context. Document owners can accept or roll back requirements changes.
Exports and Document Generation
Documents (such as Marketing Briefs,
Product Briefs, Feature Plans, Vision Documents and
Requirements Specifications) can be generated in Microsoft Word
format. Data can be exported to Microsoft Excel and XML.
Integration with stpsoft Definer and stpsoft Storyboarding
Requirement defined using
stpsoft Definer for VS ALM can
be imported to ReqSheet from TFS. The requirements are
imported to ReqSheet hierarchically based on the
parent/child work item relationships defined using
Definer. The user can then elaborate, prioritise, assign
and manage the requirements using ReqSheet.
Requirements can be imported to
stpsoft Storyboarding for VS
ALM
to visualise and validate functional requirements. Functionality and concepts in the GUI and workflow storyboard can be linked to
ReqSheet data (such as features, goals and requirements), and a traceability matrix can be generated
to check for completeness, assess the impact of change and
minimise scope creep.
COM API and Custom Add-Ins
The ReqSheet COM API enables the creation of custom COM add-ins that
can be executed from within ReqSheet and other COM clients (such as
custom macros in Microsoft Excel).
Using the API, developers can create custom imports/exports
and custom integrations (such as integration with document management
and testing tools).
System Requirements
MS WinXP Pro or MS Windows Server 2003 or MS Windows Vista
or MS Windows 7, MS Word 2003
and above, MS Excel 2003 and above, Visual Studio Team
Explorer 2008/2010 and network access with permissions
to a Team Foundation Server 2008/2010.
